Architectural elements and their patterns are the basic inspiration for the BASSORILIEVI collection.
Broken up and put back together, reproduced with a light relief on the wooden surfaces, these classical patterns become abstract, again bringing two different worlds together: the classical world, because of the signs chosen, and the modern world of “Mondrian” origin for the compositions of the architectural fragments themselves.
The wood grain plays in a crosswise manner with the architectural marks, their own flashes being independent of the same, making the whole effect even more abstract.
It is as if the world of architecture and its treaties engraved in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries is passing in front of our eyes, making columns, capitals, silhouettes, decorations, traces, into a parallel journey, magically transformed into an “enchanted wood”.
